Bolder Bolder 2012

This was the second time that I ran the Bolder Boulder. My goal going into the run as to have a good time and that is exactly what happened. Greg and I drove up from his house outside of Conifer
We got there just in time to just into our wave and took off. I wanted to take a bunch of photos along the way and they are all posted here too.
I felt so much better running it this time than last time. The altitude really affected me last time and this time I just felt like I could keep running all the time. I only grabbed water a couple of time because it was a perfect day to run.
The only drawback was that we didn't run in a timed wave start. So we were at the back of the pack behind many of the walkers so most of the time we were dodging and weaving through walkers but I don't think it affected my time that much. I just had a good time stopping and taking pics, like the one at the hula hoop, where I jumped in and did that hula hoop three times.
I can't wait to do this one again. It's always so much fun and the course is lined with people!

I just finished the DICK'S Sporting Goods BolderBOULDER 10k with mile times of 0:10:17.46, 0:10:18.16, 0:12:23.89, 0:11:11.41, 0:11:35.51, 0:10:49.63 and a finish time of 1:08:44.75, 11:04 per mile.

Lincoln Half Marathon 2012

I had a great time running my second Lincoln Half Marathon. I really wanted to beat my time from the first time (1:16) but it wasn't to be. I started off running with Turan. There was rain in the forecast that morning but when the run started it was perfect conditions, if you ask me.
The first 6 plus miles were outstanding. As you can see below, we finished it in a little over an hour so we were right on pace. But then when we hit the main trails and the other people running it hurts your stride and your pace. I'm hoping some day they move it out to the highway so there is more space to run. When I hit the hill I just didn't have the energy that I needed and that was about the nine mile mark. I told Turan to go forward. The rest of the race was a mental and physical battle. I wanted to keep running but my body just kept telling me no as there was no energy there. But I kept fighting. As I made my way down 10th Street and the crowds kept getting larger it gave me more energy again.
The feeling turning into Memorial Stadium is awesome and really lifts you up!
I can't wait to do it again. The photo at the bottom is with my coworker Lori who walked the half.
